A Journey Through the Old Testament

Is the Old Testament a closed book for you?

If the first thirty-nine books of the Bible are a mystery to you, you’re missing out on a treasure trove of Biblical wisdom and understanding. Dr. Peter J. Leithart (Ph.D., Cambridge), Fellow of Theology and Literature at New St. Andrews College in Moscow, Idaho, says this: “We must recover the medieval and reformational way of reading the Old Testament as a book about Jesus.” We want to help you to do just that!

Whatever your level of Scriptural knowledge or religious background, we welcome you to join us on a sixteen-week journey through the Old Testament, as we explore the wonders of the often-neglected first half of the Bible. The course, textbook (A House For My Name: A Survey of the Old Testament, by Dr. Peter J. Leithart), study materials, and refreshments are all absolutely free to all who register. No financial offerings will be taken, and no commitment will be sought other than a willingness to be an active and enthusiastic participant in the course.

Classes will be held at Yalenka Hall, 933 Patricia Blvd., Prince George, every Sunday evening at 7 PM, beginning on May 3rd, 2009.

This journey is bound to be exciting, informative, and eye-opening. If you want to understand the message of the New Testament, you need to know where it came from. There’s a world of revelation in these books, and we’d love to have you join us to explore it!

Using Dr. Leithart’s excellent survey of the Old Testament as our guide, here is the outline we hope to follow:
